After first receiving his Bachelor of Arts with Distinction from the University of Manitoba, Kristofer Advent graduated from the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Law with his Juris Doctor in 2012. Upon graduation Kristofer immediately began his career in criminal defence by articling with the law firm Gindin Wolson Simmonds Roitenberg in Winnipeg, Manitoba. After completing his articles, Mr. Advent joined that firm as an associate.
In 2019, after working as a criminal defence lawyer for 6 years in Winnipeg at Gindin Wolson Simmonds Roitenberg, Mr. Advent joined Brian Beresh, Q.C. and became an associate of Beresh Law in Edmonton, Alberta.
Kristofer has fought for clients at trial in both Provincial and Superior Court (Queen’s Bench); he has defended clients charged with offences ranging from Impaired Driving to Murder.
Throughout his career, Kristofer has also argued numerous appeals, having represented clients on appeals of both sentence and conviction.
